Behind the Bars is an interactive tour of the Huron Historic Gaol where visitors can meet in-costume actors portraying real inmates and staff from the past! Doors open at 7:00 pm, and the last tour begins at 8:00pm. Visitors will have different starting points to their tour of this national historic site, and explore at their own pace as they hear the true stories of the people who lived and worked at the gaol in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Purchasing your tickets online allows you to enter the building at your booked entry time without having to wait to purchase entry. No need to arrive early or bring paper copies of your tickets – just state the name of your party to the employee at the door to gain entry. Ticket sales end one hour before the event starts. Make sure to get your tickets in advance as they can sell out fast!
Capacity is limited, and tickets will be available at the door only as space allows.
Please note that the upper floors of the jail and attached governor’s house require stairs.
