Gateway Virtual Lecture Series – “Artificial Intelligence, Rural Health and… Inequality?”

Artificial intelligence is an emerging field of research and innovation. However, the benefits from these new technologies have not been equally distributed to rural areas and have yet to be fully explored. Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health 32nd Lecture Series event is exploring “Artificial Intelligence, Rural Health and Inequality”. Join the discussion on Tuesday, March 5th from 12 – 1PM EST via ZOOM.  Leslie Walker, PhD Candidate of Social and Economic Sciences at the University of Technology in Vienna, Austria, will be presenting. Her research focuses on policies to reduce the inequality associated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare. She is working as a Management Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and works on large digital transformation projects in the public sector in various countries.

Joining her are two panelists. Stefan Salcher is a serial entrepreneur coming from a computer engineering and media science background. He is the CEO, Druckster / Founder of Young Entrepreneurs of Vienna. Geneva Neal is a Goderich native with a mathematics and computer science background currently working for a prominent nonprofit organization which helps scale science and technology-based companies. She is currently working as a Senior Data Analyst, Creative Destruction Lab – University of Toronto.
